Resumo

The exothermic characteristic of cement particles hydration is a widely studied phenomenon
by academy, which uses calorimetric methods as a tool to describe the reactions of cementitious
matrixes. The development of models that describe and predict the results of calorimetric tests from few
experiments is essential, given the technical difficulties and time required to perform the tests. This work
aimed to predict the adiabatic temperature rise of a concrete mass starting from the paste isothermal
calorimetry results and thermal properties of its components, using a homogenization model developed
by the authors. The experimental validation was done in comparison with results obtained by the
elevation temperature of concrete of the same cementitious matrix in a full adiabatic calorimeter.
