Resumo

The loss of a load support element due to an extreme event can result in the progressive collapse of an
entire building. There is a great complexity involved in modeling the behavior of a structure subject to this type
of event, which makes it difficult for designers to access it. This work realized successive analysis of structural
models of a reinforced concrete building, adopting a progressive complexity to each of them, using the alternative
path method. At the end, the effectiveness and importance of each of the analysis steps employed were analyzed.
