Resumo

This article aims to present expressions for the calculation of strongly singular integrals existing in the
Cauchy Principal Value sense. The expressions are directly applicable to two-dimensional elasticity problems with
the Boundary Element Method and can be easily adapted to other problems. In particular, general expressions
are presented for the calculation in continuous and discontinuous linear boundary elements that can be easily
adapted for direct calculation in classic Boundary Element Method computer codes. The discontinuous element
is considered in a parametric form. With this direct approach, the rigid body movement artifice or equivalent
technique for axisymmetric problems can be avoided. The validation of the presented expressions are done through
a simple example. Basically, integration results from the derived expressions are compared with those obtained
with the classic indirect evaluation of singular integrals with the rigid body movement. The expected correlation
is demonstrated in the results.
