Resumo

Arterial stiffness is a complex and inevitable physiological process that affects the entire cardiovascular system. Among the various arterial structures, the carotid arteries play a pivotal role in supplying oxygenated blood to the brain. The aging process impacts both men and women differently, and recent research has shed light on the gender-specific differences in arterial carotid stiffness. This article aims to explore published reports on the underlying mechanisms and clinical implications of these disparities, providing valuable insights for future research.
